Why the hell did I just find SafeNet in WB!!!!! Is StarDock doing the spyware thing now or something!!!! I know this has nothing to do with this web site or any of you but I just wanted to vent. Sorry but this might be a horrible mistake too but SpyBot-Search & Destroy the program I use to get ride of spyware and all kinds of nasties like that found it in an .ini file that came form WB so it must be true right? I guess I'll do the right thing and e-mail StarDock now. Again sorry for the venting but I don't like spyware.

Hi,

Don't shout too much yet. This is the first time i hear this. I also have WB and i don't have SafeNet on my computer.
This is the first time i read something like this about WB.

I think it from an another program!

Well here is the path C:\WINDOWS\wb.ini it says it's coming from there and it's the lite version of SafeNet, if any of you don't know what SafeNet is it's a keylogger program. I tried to e-mail StarDock but my ISP is being a paine right now and won't let me send or receive any e-mail

Relax, you didn't just find SafeNet in WB. It's a known false positive. If you had SafeNet it would have found the program, not just an .ini file.

Do you have the latest SB updates? I haven't been following this issue (there was a discussion at a dslreports.com forum some time ago about this) so I don't know if some comments are included in the program about this false positive or not. At any rate, if all SB found was the wb.ini it's picking up on a legit WB file not spyware. You can always post a question at the SpyBot S&D forum to confirm this if you like.

Here's the thread at the dslreports security forum. I haven't posted a link here before so I don't know if it will come out ok or not. My apologies if it doesn't.
